ARGH! *tears room apart* Where is the stupid worksheet I had on Shinto wedding ceremony symbolism?!?! *pulls out hair* Today was kind of crap. Mostly because I started it by going to bed at 6am when it was already light out. I slept through my alarm, it ended up on the floor again, and so I was late getting started. Got verbally molested in English by an Italian who studied in Turkey to work at an Indian restaurant in Japan. For not finishing my chicken curry. I was like, "Jesus, back off." This is why I can't live with a host family. Then I went and bought socks. Because the socks here are cute. Then I got on a train and went to Osaka (Tenmabashi) to get my re-entry permit so that I don't have to go through alien registration again when I get back here in January. I had a map from the CIE; what could go wrong? ...HAHAHAHA. HA. Yeah, Japanese maps? Need to tell you WHICH exit to leave from from the train stations. Left from the west exit. According to my map, there was a river behind the station, and a building labeled "OMM" across the street from whatever exit I was supposed to exit from, so I went across the street and, yay! Found OMM. According to the map, if I'm at OMM, I should be able to continue going straight away from the station and reach "Hotel Keihan". Okay. Walk, walk, walk, walk, wait a fucking minute, why am I crossing a bridge over the river? Pause. Consult map. WTF. Look up and down street. No Hotel Keihan. Backtrack. Turn right at OMM. Find river again. WTF?!?! Turn around. See "Hotel Keihan" on big blue sign across the road. ...'Kay. Walk that way. Not seeing the kanji for "Immigration". Looking, looking. Oh, a guy in a uniform. "Ano, sumimasen ga..." *FACEPALM* I almost got there without help. Stupid stupid kanji. I was looking for the kanji for "enter" with the kanji for "country" as opposed to the kanji for "Osaka", so my eyes skimmed right over it. *sigh* So I went in, and there were a bunch of people loitering around. And there was an information desk. So I asked where the hell I was supposed to go for a re-entry permit, and she said, "Take the elevator to the fifth floor" in Japanese. Procedure: -Stand in long line. And then I returned to the dorm after grabbing a couple of things from the 100-yen (see: dollar) store. And now it's 8:34pm, I haven't even attempted to study for my two tests that I have tomorrow, I haven't touched the paper I'm supposed to have written for tomorrow, and I haven't eaten dinner. WOOHOO. And here are maps I made in PSP7 for your viewing pleasure:
