Aaaaalrighty then. A lot’s happened in the last six days, and there’s no way in hell I’m going to be able to do a full recap. The Con was, as usual, good times. Nikki won a prize for her Eve (Guild Wars) costume, which was super spiffy. Peter altered the crap out of his Dante (Devil May Cry 2) costume from two years ago and made it look even more awesome than it originally did. Jenny cosplayed Kasumi (DoA 2) finally, which she’s been wanting to do for a long time, and the costume came out great, despite technical difficulties on the first day. Nikki also recycled the Toadette costume from last year and her boyfriend Adam went as Toad. They were SO FRICKIN’ CUTE. They even had a green, a red, and a blue (winged!) shell that they kept throwing at everyone. XD Got to meet the guy from Ansem Retort. Bought his T-shirt that he was selling; was tempted to also buy one from the people down the hall from him. There was one with a ninja using “chainsaw nunchakus” (keep out of the reach of children) and one that said, “Ninjas can’t catch you if you set yourself on fire”. XDDDD Chainsaw nunchakus are almost as awesome as the Flamesaw (flaming chainsaw – for chain smokers!) that I used to babble on about. :P Cosplay masquerade was good; only liked a few of the skits, but that’s generally the case and I didn’t really expect anything else, so. There was one that made part of my soul die (in a good way) in which Harry Potter was in detention, and Moaning Myrtle made him fuck up the potion he was making, so he, Myrtle, and Snape ended up doing a dance number, which was full of hilarity. (FIFTY POINTS FROM GRYFFINDOR! *shuffle*boogie*) Cosplay chess was wicked fun, although we got pretty crap seats behind a couple of really tall people so it was difficult to see everything. The dark side won (their king and queen were a male and female Blood Elf from World of Warcraft) over the light side (the king: Zelda; the queen: Link). Favorite chess pieces include: the green ranger from the original Power Rangers, Gene Starwind from Outlaw Star (god, I miss that show...), Sailor Chibi Moon (who kicked ass at the very end of the game), the Nurse from Silent Hill (that was Kchan; there was another one, too; after they brutally murdered their opponent, the second nurse gave him a bandaid and a lollypop – classic), and Darth Vader. The guy who announces everything during the chess game – Mookie, I think his name is; he does a webcomic called Dominic Deegan – is hysterical. He kept leading us in songs: Jeopardy theme and “The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly” song when the chess masters took too long to make a move, Final Fantasy victory music, the Imperial March, and System of a Down’s “Legend of Zelda” song (Link! He come to town! Come to save! The princess Zelda!) To go back for a minute – another awesome skit from the cosplay masquerade featured the two Blood Elves that were in the chess game. It was called “Girls Don’t Play WoW” and the boy tried to hit on the girl, only to find out that the girl was actually a man’s avatar. Then they both got killed by a female whose avatar was a male ninja of some sort. XD; Made of win. The AMV contest was... kind of meh. There were only three videos that I can think of that I really liked. Two of them were by the same person, as it turned out; one won Fan Favorite; the other won nothing, but it really should have. The third one was just a giant compilation of different dancing gifs that someone collected from all over the internet and put to music. XD; But back to the first two... This one won the prize, and I would’ve been severely pissed if it hadn’t, because it was by far the best video there. I want to watch this anime, “Princess Tutu” now, just because of this video and how hardcore it is. I’ve never even heard of it before, but I don’t care. XD The other one that person submitted was in the humor category and it was much funnier than the one that actually won in that category. - . -; If you go search ConnectiCon 2007 on youtube you end up with most of the convention anyway. XD; Um, um, um... okay, in things not related to the con... I gave up on the contacts thing. I have learned to love my glasses in the past two weeks. The lenses hurt too friggin’ much, so yeah... no contacts. I’m back to work and... blah. XD; That’s it... just blah. Also, I’m excited about Japan, due to this picture of a Kansai Gaidai dorm room. :D It looks so cute. ^__^ And now I have to get ready for bed. Thank god tomorrow’s Friday. And then... HARRY FUCKING POTTER OHMYFUCKINGGODAREYOUSERIOUS?!?!?! ^______________^
