I once again come here for the purposes of putting off the giant shitload of work I have today. Today is a day filled with cussing. That is to say that this week is off to a really horrendous start. Let's start with the good news: I managed to convince my anthro professor to change my midterm grade to a B- instead of a C+. For those who didn't hear that story: Prior to Spring Break I had four midterms - history, anthro, labor, and Japanese. History and Anthro, I studied for for about 5 hours each, went through the study guides like crazy, the whole nine yards, because they were the first two and they're also heavily weighted. History I got a 92, Anthro I got a 79 (Anthro was the last grade I got back, though, which made it all that much worse). Japanese I studied for the way I usually do, first with Melissa (and Megan, this time, too), and then later on my own just before bed. Was so tired from studying for three tests that I didn't bother studying for Labor at all. Calculated the worst case scenario grade (40 on the midterm) with 100 on class participation and an 80 on the final, and it came out to my having a B in the class, so I said 'fuck it' and went to bed. Got an 81 on the Japanese and a 95 on the Labor. WTF. So anyway, was pissed off about the Anthro one, because on one of the 5-point short answer questions, I botched one sentence (not the most important one) in the whole paragraph, and my TA took off four out of the five points. Not cool. So today I showed it to my professor, and he agreed that I should've gotten more credit for my answer, so he gave back two of the points, and now I have an 81. So two As and two Bs on my midterms - KICKASS. That's the good news. The bad news is... um... everything else. My next two weeks look like this: Tomorrow - 600-800 character essay due in Japanese, Astronomy exam that's on a bunch of material I don't understand, and I need to set up an advising appointment and settle my housing bullshit. Wednesday - Will be spent trying to catch up on readings for my classes, also, kanji quiz. Thursday - Japanese exam, again. Every two weeks. Also, study abroad meeting that night - suckage. Friday - History paper due, speaking test in Japanese, possibly talk to my advisor... Tuesday (I have Monday off) - God only knows; I'm afraid to look. Wednesday - Same as above. Thursday - Paper due in Labor class, more of the above. Friday - No idea, but I have to go home that night and start getting ready to go to my cousin Phil's wedding. Work is not likely to get done that weekend. Which is bad because the following Monday I have a 5 page formal research paper due. And probably another Japanese test that Thursday. Kill me. This past weekend I bought Sum41's CD "Chuck". I'm sure it's been out for a while, but I just hadn't heard it. Also saw TMNT, which was fab, and I'll see it again if we go to the place where I only have to pay $5 with my student card... Also bought an awesome shirt to wear to work this summer. I need to improve my business-casual wardrobe, as it is severely lacking in the comfort and variety departments. Saw someone at the mall that I was less than thrilled about. Dunno if she saw me. Doesn't really matter in the end. Still, it made me incredibly uncomfortable. I hope I like Japan. That was a very poor attempt at a segue. 'Segue' is a really fucking weird word. Say-goo? Nope. It's seh-gway. Weird. Anyway. Yeah, Japan. Talking in another language is really awkward for someone who can't even communicate that well in her native language. Hopefully doing karaoke with people will keep me from having to hang out with drunk people. I'm cold. *digs out electric blanket* (meloves you, Snare T__T) Fuck, I'm on the ass-end of 3:30, I need to start doing actual work. *sighs*
